More on Climate Litigation Oversight

CLW readers may recall this post from a year ago almost to the day, about Congress investigating the climate litigation industry that seeks, inter alia, a “sustainable funding stream” to finance politicians’ spending ambitions without getting caught directly raising taxes.

That represented something of a table-turning, with congressional oversight bodies having been enlisted on behalf of said litigation industry to procure documents from the lawyers’ litigation targets.

Thanks to public watchdogs (looking at you, Energy Policy Advocates and Government Accountability & Oversight), the public already knows there is much to examine about, e.g., the tort lawyers’ partnership with progressives in law enforcement, lobbyists and activist foundations (and their hired guns in academia) in pursuit of their aligned agenda, and what did their clients know and when did they know it about donor-financing, drafting and guidance of this tsunami of litigation nominally filed in parens patriae.

This morning, courtesy of the Washington Free Beacon CLW sees this memo indicating the House has made some progress looking into this movement.
