Law Enforcement Should Not Be For Rent Petition

Dear Elected Officials,

Attorneys General from around the country have asked billionaire activist Michael Bloomberg to provide them with privately hired ‘special prosecutors’, to pursue Mr. Bloomberg’s radical environmental agenda out of our states’ top law enforcement offices.

This is outrageous. These unprecedented arrangements likely violate numerous state laws.

We object to this mercenary use of our states' governments. Law enforcement should not be for sale.

Please investigate how this came to be, and how it can be stopped.

If this unprecedented scheme is permitted to stand, every special interest and activist donor in the country will have a green light to "chair" a "Special Assistant Attorney General" to use law enforcement offices to push their agenda, and target opponents.
